Backroads of Andalucia [cycling]:
This 8 day bike trip tours the north side of the Sierra Nevada and all its unique beauty. The area around Guadix has over 2,000 residential caves dug into the hillsides.
Cycling here is undemanding with very little traffic but lots of spectacular and varied landscapes. Steep canyons and arid deserts, Moorish villages and the fantastic Alhambra of Granada add to the variety of this roadtrip between the peaks of the Sierra Nevada. A magnificent 12 day trek in the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims walking to the tomb of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela.
The route traverses the north of Spain and is both a stunning hiking trail and culturally/historically engrossing.
Our tour concentrates on the most attractive hiking section from Burgos to Santiago, through the high plains, hills and mountains of Galicia as well as medieval cities such as Burgos, Leon and Astorga.
