Crusader Castles & Desert Cities [Jordan - Syria]:
A 16 day trip around Jordan and Syria visiting the region's best sights - Aleppo, Krak des Chevaliers, Palmyra, Damascus, Petra, Wadi Rum and a float in the Dead Sea.
Spice Trails of Petra [walking]:
On this 8 day active walking adventure we hike through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Middle East, pink, stripey Petra and the melting rocky desert of Wadi Rum. In addition we stroll Roman Jerash and float in the Dead Sea.
Backroads of Jordan [biking]: 10 days. On this cycling tour through Jordan, we'll explore the dramatic beauty of the Great Rift Valley, Wadi Rum, arguably Arabia's finest desert, the rugged shoreline along the Dead Sea and the spectacular site of Petra.
This is a long but steady cycle tour through some of Jordan's most stunning natural scenery (approx. 5-7 hrs per day), following mainly quiet tarmac backroads with a decent amount of downhill and level sections although there are some unsurfaced roads and a couple of steep climbs, particularly on days 2 and 4 (which can be optional as there is a vehicle support throughout the trip. Consequently the route can be as challenging as the individual wishes it to be.
Prophets and Petra [Israel - Jordan]:
This is an 12 day tour of the classic sights of Jerusalem, travelling by camel and 4WD safari into the Negev desert, visiting Jordan's famous old Roman site of Jerash, Lawrence of Arabia's wadi Rum and the even more famous [think Indiana Jones] magical, pink, rock-cut city of Petra.
This journey highlights some of the most dramatic places in the Middle East.
Walks are graded B. The trails of the desert and paths around Petra are generally well defined but you should expect much of the walking to be across rocky terrain.
Camping in Israel is in comfortable, fixed, Bedouin-style tents, with shower and toilet facilities nearby; camping in Wadi Rum is more basic, with fewer facilities.
Lawrence's Arabia's Adventure [A Family Holiday for Teens]:
9 days. The mountains and desert of Jordan radiate a wild and desolate beauty all of their own. It is these sun-baked wadis and giant granite crags that Lawrence describes in his 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom' - Wadi Rum. We camp like a true Bedouin tribesman there. We also tour the magical pink, rock-hewn city of Petra, ancient Roman Jerash, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea.
