Explore is our only
tour operator offering tours to the arid, combative and dramatic
land of Israel - sometimes known as Palestine - with its long history,
cross-culture religious sites and endless sunshine. But is certainly worth the trip! Number One religious centre for not only Jews but also Muslims and Christians. All Explore's Middle-East Tours.

Beyond Jersualem's Walls:
A 5 day trip around Israel's main Christian sights/sites.
The tour begins with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and then on to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the fish and the loaves. Travelling on to Capernaum, we visit the old synagogue and the house of St. Peter, before heading through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the oldest city in the World. We continue to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered and also a great place to experience the unique sensation of floating on the Dead Sea.
The old city of Jerusalem is a warren of narrow streets and alleyways; the turn of each corner seems to reveal yet another familiar name and the atmosphere of a traditional souk only serves to strengthen the feeling of stepping back in time. Our walking tour of old Jerusalem includes the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus laboured with the cross, the Wailing Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre - site of the crucifixion, Jesus' tomb and the place of the resurrection.
We also take in the wonderful views of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and travel to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus.
Prophets and Petra [Israel - Jordan]:
This is an 12 day tour of the classic sights of Jerusalem, travelling by camel and 4WD safari into the Negev desert, visiting Jordan's famous old Roman site of Jerash, Lawrence of Arabia's wadi Rum and the even more famous [think Indiana Jones] magical, pink, rock-cut city of Petra.
This journey highlights some of the most dramatic places in the Middle East.
Walks are graded B. The trails of the desert and paths around Petra are generally well defined but you should expect much of the walking to be across rocky terrain.
Camping in Israel is in comfortable, fixed, Bedouin-style tents, with shower and toilet facilities nearby; camping in Wadi Rum is more basic, with fewer facilities.
