Exotic Java and Bali:
16 days. This trip includes the great highlights of Java and Bali. We visit Borobodur Temple, see Mount Bromo at dawn and enjoy the beaches and handicrafts of Bali.
In Yogyakarta, the cultural core of Java, we explore the Kraton Palace back streets and markets, visit the stupendous 8thC temple at Borobodur with its thousand buddhas. Then it's off to the highlands to stroll the misty Dieng Plateau where some of Java's greatest temples reside in a massive crater, embraced by steaming mud pools.
Travelling via the Sultan's palace at Solo and the erotic temple at Candi Sukuh, we arrive at Mount Bromo. From Mount Penanjakan, we watch sunrise and the morning mists flowing around spectacular craters. Finally on Java we visit a Kalibaru coffee.
Crossing over to Bali by boat we head for Lovina to relax on black sands or take a boat to look for dolphins. Then it's on to Indonesia's primary artistic centre, Ubud and its little villages and stepped rice-terraces.
After exploring the caves and elephant pool of Goa Gajah and Pejeng temple, there's just time to visit handicraft workshops or ramble the rice paddies.
Tour departures between: 03 October 2008 - 19 December 2009

East Indies Seatrek:
This is a 10-day schooner cruise among the virgin islands of East Indonesia, swimming and snorkelling in warm, crystal-clear waters and exploring unique island cultures, flora & fauna.
In Bali we board our two-mast schooner for a romantic sea voyage following old trade routes among luscious and untouched islands. Boat accommodation is of a high standard.
Among beach stops and other sights we check out Sangean, an active volcano 2,000 meters above sea level, and Mount Kelimutu's three curiously coloured crater lakes.
On Rinca we hike over grassy hills spotting boar, wild horses, monkeys and many colourful bird species.
On the tiny island of Komodo we hunt Dragons, the notoriously huge, aggressive and carnivorous lizards.
On Satonda, near the huge lake that dominates the island's centre, we search the mangrove forests for flying foxes.
Finally on Lombok, Sumbawa and Flores we visit local villages and inspect traditional crafts of boatbuilding, pottery and hand weaving.
