China Highlights [Greatest Hits Vol. 1]:
This 11 day China Tour travels from exotic, dynamic Hong Kong through the stunning karst landscapes and terraces of the country's tranquil southern areas, on to the incredible Terracotta Army and finally Beijing's mixed delights and a walk on the Great Wall.

Great Wall and Warriors [China, family holiday]:
This 15 day Chinese Tour includes a visit to Hong Kong, exploring the splendours of Imperial Beijing, a stroll on the Great Wall, a look at the Terracotta Army of Xian, hopefully the sight of the superhuman skills of Shaolin monastery's 'Kung Fu' monks, a boat ride down the gorgeous Li River and time on the Guilin rice terraces to learn about village life.

Along the Yangtse [Exploring and boating]:
This 15 day China tour including the cosmopolitan cities of Hong Kong and Shanghai, this trip also spends time exploring rural China. We visit the stunning limestone scenery of Yangshuo and terraced rice fields of the Longji area. We then board a Chinese riverboat to cruise the dramatic Yangtse River Gorges.

Walk the Great Wall [hiking]:
10 days trekking some of the Great Wall's least known and most spectacular sections after visiting the major sites of Beijing and the walks gives you an insight into China 'off the beaten track'. Distances covered are less than 10kms a day but graded moderate to strenuous.

Crossroads of Asia [China - Kyrgyzstan]:
17 days along China's southern Silk Road in Central Asia.
From Urumqi, capital of China's remote north-west, we drive to Kuqa, a staging post on the Silk Road, then into one of the greatest 'voids' on earth - the Taklamakan Desert, the resting place for many 19th Century European explorers. Eventually we emerge onto the southern silk road along which lie a belt of settlements, nestled between the desert and Pamir and Kunlun ranges.
Traders from the neighbouring countries of Central Asia still flock to Kashgar and we plan to absorb ourselves in this exotic ethnic mix at the fabled Sunday bazaar and livestock market. Although the city is modernising, it's still possible to take a stroll through the narrow passages of the old town past Uighur homes and workshops and witness the traditional life.
Then our route starts to climb as we head up into the snow-capped Tien Shan mountains that separate China from Kyrgyzstan. Crossing the border at the legendary Torugart Pass (3752m), the scenery starts to change, the dry and desolate landscape giving way to forested mountains and lush steppe.
Kyrgyzstan offers an unforgettable environment as well as a warm Central Asian welcome from these traditionally nomadic people. In a beautiful hidden valley at Tash Rabat, we stay in a yurt camp next to the brooding ruins of an old fortified caravanserai. We have another taste of the nomadic life staying in the alpine pastures at Lake Song Kul.
