Why holiday in Sweden?

To many potential tourists Sweden seems to consist of a vast and chilly forest dotted with glacial lakes and bordered by a rocky, fjord-chopped coast.
Actually, that does cover most of the country, however...there are occasional sparks of sophistication, vibrant, elegant cities brimming with life and culture - Stockholm, Uppsala and Gothenburg for example, as well as many well preserved castles, medieval towns, beaches for those few hot summer days and lots of water...
