Why Travel to Ireland?

Ireland is a country that can get tourists well away from traditional crowded, stuffy Europe, with its clean air, luxuriant green [it gets watered regularly!], dramatic coasts and open, natural landscapes.
This is an ideal vacation for outdoor folk who like to walk, climb or bike in reasonable isolation but can still find a friendly English-speaking face when they get back to their lodging, along with a hearty meal and a glass of Guiness.
Ancient sites range from derelict castles to prehistoric mounds, though road surfaces are frequently holy [no, the Pope hasn't blessed them], so travelling around can be slow and bumpy experience.
Beware a tendency for some service personnel to be 'extravagant' in their billing and always carry a raincoat!
