Kavourotrypes, Karydi beaches
Halkidiki

Intents
Kavourotrypes, Sithonia
Campers
who enjoy primitive conditions will be happy chappies in the pine
woods of eastern Sithonia, Halkildiki, where the views are sensational
and the beaches sublime.
Official
camp sites these are not, so facilities such as running water do no
exist. Thus some wheels would be useful for travelling to and from
local grocer stores and moving location when the endless blue becomes
tiresome.
This
area is called Kavourotrypes, and it's a series of charming little
coves about 15km north of Sarti. They are not signposted so just dive
into the pines just north of the big official camp site at Pilatsi
[?]. Or stay at Pilatsi if you fancy a little more organisation.

Karydi
beach, Sithonia.
A
long walk or a short ride from the cluster of domatia in the non-town
of Vourvourou, Karydi offers no services to travellers, just the shade
of pine trees, soft sand, characterful rocks and views across to Halkidiki's
third peninsula, Athos. More suited to families than couples perhaps,
there being a dearth of romantic restaurants with candles and sea
views.
