Paris Pompidou Centre

The Pompidou Centre, displaying modern and contemporary arts, attracts more than 25.000 people a day, not only for its avant-garde building style and excellent temporary exhibitions, but also to savour the colourful and wacky street action around the building. The Centre's National Museum of Modern Art occupies two floors for some 40.000 works.
Although there are higher points in the city, travellers in the know dine on the rooftop terrace of the Pompidou - a stylish and not too expensive restaurant with a pleasant Paris outlook.
