Paris
Opéra Garnier
Superseded by the Paris' alternative opera house, Opéra Bastille,
in the 1980s, today Opéra Garnier is home to ballet rather
than Opera, but its glamorous interior and exterior makes any traveller's
night out seem extravagant.
Situated at just off the busy shopping street of Blvd. Hassmann, it's
open to the public by day. Worth seeing are the Grand Foyer, the Grand
Staircase, the library, museum and the auditorium, with its ornate
ceiling apparently painted by Chagall.
